President - Nathan Kirby
Hi I'm Nathan, I bought my first blaster 2nd hand from a long-term player at donnybrook and it snowballed from there. It didn’t take long for me to have a whole arsenal of blasters ready for any situation.
I chose to start this association after seeing some of the news reports and realising that the sport was under threat. I have made a lot of connections in the various government departments that helps ensure we have the most up to date information.
My plan is to keep this sport headed in the right direction working with retailers, players, fields and government departments so everybody can keep enjoying the sport I love so much.
I am not and never plan to be affiliated with any retailer or gel ball business therefore my decisions and ideas are purely unbiased. I hope to meet all of you one day and see how awesome we can make this hobby together. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a message.
Vice President - Jason Stephenson
Hi, The names Jason , I have for the last 4 years been in the delivery services an now I am a carer for my partner , over the years I have been looking for something to do with my kids and have found that in the Gel Ball sport. My two youngest kids love it as do I and hope it to last a long time to come.
Treasurer - Elliott Caldwell
Hi I'm Elliott, I work in IT and have been in Management for the last 15. I have been a consultant for most of this time, so I’ve worked in a range of different companies in both Government and corporations.
But most importantly I am passionate about Gel Blasting (my wife would say obsessed), but I’m not affiliated with any organisation. I play with both of my daughters as well as my nephew and a few friends. I joined the association because I saw all of the issues on the news and decided that I would try and do anything thing I could to ensure the continuation of the sport. I would also like to work with the community to improve the public’s perception of Gel Balling.
Secretary - Josh Favarato
People know me as Spartan, Sierra 187, Josh spartan and also late for dinner sometimes. Lol
Public Relations - Shayne Johns
Hi, I’m Shayne, I have worked as both Painter and a Postie but am currently working from home and raising my young son. I have owned Gel Blasters and been in the online community for almost two years, but joined the sport itself this year after recovering from a motorcycle accident. During my time as an active participant in the sport I have networked with many players and retailers and built good strong relationships with many of these people.
I lost a child earlier in 2019, and members within the community reached out and touched my life at its darkest point. I honestly believe that without that I wouldn’t be the same person today. I’m interested in protecting Gel Blasters and the greater community for this reason and the many positives it has come to offer our players and hobbyists from the youngest to our oldest members. I am also invested in protecting the livelihood of our business owners, and the job security of their employees as well as their families.
Health and safety - Aaron Butler-Woodall
Hi, I'm Aaron. I am a disabilities support officer and director of a company that provides support services and training to people with disabilities in south west QLD. I'm also studying psychological science full time. I have 2 boys, and my focus and reason for joining the association is because I want to ensure the safety of all players and the general public, and in doing so contribute to the ongoing existence of the sport being available to all.
Team Manager - Tim Roach
Hi I am Tim. I work for the Learning and Development unit for the local Government. I have studied I.T and Audio engineering have had done a lot of work in video and audio editing. I have also played classical piano all my life and had a strong interest in military related things. When I heard about Gel Balling I realised there was finally a sport I could get behind. 1.5 years later I am still as in love with the sport as the day I started. I am almost 40 years old but still maintain a youthful way of thinking. I too want to ensure the safety of the sport and lay down the foundation of a solid set of rules in which the sport should be guided by.
